Why I’ve Moved From Mainstream Social Media

First, let me say, this is NOT easy to do. Much like quitting anything addictive, there is that constant draw to go back, you might be missing something, you need that FIX.

Facebook/Twitter, and the like, provide you with almost instant gratification. Or, instant rejection, when you are ‘off the rails’. It’s both a safety net and an ego stroker. It’s your best friend and your worst enemy. It is bi-polar and off its meds! It is unnecessary and counter productive for a happy normal life.

So, I’ve chosen to cut the cord. I haven’t closed my accounts on other sites, but let them go dormant. I admit that I do revisit for that quickie, occasionally.

I have found much greater peace in my life since making the move to a smaller, more private, safer and happier place. A place without all the over stimulation found on the ‘popular’ sites. A place where friends can be friends.

Why have I chosen to move away from Mainstream Social Media.

1) Mainstream does not contribute to my happiness
2) There are fewer and fewer nice people on FB & Twitter
3) I don’t trust any of the mainstream platforms
4) My voice was being muted by their ‘standards’
5) I do not want to support a medium that steals from me

Articles come in a rush and I write as I process the information. I check anything I’m unsure of, however, inconsequential inaccuracies may slip through, so, I invite you to use your own research and logic to verify my writings.
